Finny: Back to School

“Good morning, Finny!” Finn snapped awake with a start, still unused to the sound of Felix's mom's voice first thing in the morning. He sat up and looked around the room in confusion. That's right, he was at Felix's house. His third morning waking up here and it was still taking some getting used to. “Did you sleep well?” Especially because of her. He only grunted as she peeled back the Pajama Pirates sheets to reveal his matching pajamas. “And you have dry Pull-ups? Let's get you to the potty straight away!” She picked him up and carried him across the hall to the bathroom. Finny was sitting on the special potty seat before he even knew what was happening. “That makes three dry mornings, Finny!” She said as he tried to focus on peeing. “If you make five days.” She waved a hand in front of her face. “You'll get a special prize.” “Like treating me my actual age?” He muttered. She didn't seem to hear him, so he peed and wondered what today would hold. He knew...

Bobby Buddy: Playdate

Bobby fumed as he sat on the floor of the living room, though it was hard to tell if he was more upset about his impending playdate or the fact that Rob had refused to let him get dressed before breakfast, so he was sitting on the floor in his nightie and diaper. Worse, it was the yellow girls’ nightgown Grace had brought over. “You didn't turn into a girl wearing it all night. A little while longer won't hurt.” Rob had said. I want this thing off.” Bobby said, hoping Rob would see reason. ”It looks cute on you. Four year olds can get away with things like this that big boys can't.” Bobby stayed silent. “Lots of little boys wear dresses and stuff for playtime.” “I don't” Bobby tried to think of a way to stop Rob from getting him some without sounding like he was forgetting his place. “I like wearing my nightie and diaper f...

The Baby Game: Time Out

The wedding's tomorrow! Making it the perfect day requires a lot of practice and for everyone to focus “Run, Carson!” With a squeal the towheaded toddler took off running toward first base, nearly tripping over the ball that he had only just barely managed to knock off the tee. His oversized batting helmet threatened to fall down over his eyes with every wobbly step he took. Alex rolled his eyes. Carson finally getting a hit meant he was next. “Kiss for good luck?” Mark asked, holding Alex in place until he got his answer. “No, Bubba.” Alex muttered. Yet another piece of evidence that this was not a real sport was the players hung out with their family until it was their turn to play. “Suit yourself.” Mark smiled all the same. That worked just fine for him since it meant Alex would be going up to bat with caramel still all around his mouth from his mid-game snack. It felt almost like a tragedy as Alex pulled his batting helmet over his freshly cut hair. The wedding was next wee...
