Puppy Love: Carnival

Maddox tried to hide his panic as he once again had to dodge a group of excited swimmers. Everyone seemed to be growing up so fast and he felt as though he was the only one who hadn't been told. Everything had seemed so normal at the start of summer but now that school was around the corner, suddenly his Sonic beach towel and his lime green clogs felt horribly childish. Finn groaned as Nate and Felix laughed about something that had happened at their friend Jaycen's house. He hated hanging out with his little brother, but that was the rule for the whole summer ever since their parents had seen some news report or something. Neither of them could go anywhere with a “buddy”. Nate had convinced their parents that Felix counted as a buddy, but if Finn wanted to go somewhere, he had to go where Nate was going. He had only agreed to come along with Nate because they were going to the movies, but somehow, Felix's mom had convinced them they had time to hang out and drink lemonade. It was dumb, Finn thought.
